Unboxing & First Look
The moment I got the Civivi Bluetick out of the box, I was impressed. It has a clean, understated look that balances modern style with practicality. The satin blade and simple handle design make it look sharp without being over the top.
In Hand
Straight away, the knife feels solid. It has just the right amount of weight — not heavy, not flimsy — and sits really well in the hand. You can tell it’s been designed for everyday carry because it doesn’t feel bulky in the pocket but still has presence when you hold it.
Deployment
The flipper action is smooth and snappy. With the ball-bearing system, it flies open with ease, and there’s a satisfying click when it locks in. It feels secure and reliable, which is exactly what I look for in a knife I’ll actually carry.
Grip & Ergonomics
The handle feels natural, with a grip that’s comfortable even when you use it for a while. The jimping on the spine adds a nice bit of control without being overly aggressive, and the scales give you enough texture for confidence in the hand.

Cutting Performance
The blade steel strikes a good balance between sharpness and ease of maintenance. Out of the box, it was razor sharp and handled the usual tasks — packages, rope, food prep — without any fuss. It holds its edge well, and I know it’ll be straightforward to touch up when it needs it.
The Little Things
If I had to nitpick, the pocket clip is a bit stiff at first, but that’s something that tends to loosen up with use. I also wouldn’t mind slightly more aggressive jimping, especially for wet conditions, but honestly it’s minor compared to how well the knife performs overall.

Final Thoughts
My first impression of the Civivi Bluetick is that it’s an excellent all-rounder. It looks good, it feels good, and it cuts exactly how you want it to. For the price, it really punches above its weight. This is the kind of knife that will easily find its way into my regular EDC rotation.
